Variety reports that Daniel Craig is in talks to replace Robert Downey Jr. in the film adaptation of "Cowboys and Aliens." Dreamworks will distribute the film with Jon Favreau directing. Craig hasn't committed to the project but talks are on-going.

The 2006 graphic novel is a sci-fi/fantasy/western story of a group of Apache Indians and Western Settlers who resolve their differences in order to battle aliens who crash into their city.
